Snail Love
Love and snails ... their luxurious and sensual movements are an extraordinary sight - the less voyeur aquarium hobbyist might learn something out of it (:-))... Contrary to most snail species, the ampullaridae are male OR female, not hermaphrodites. the only way I have managed to distinguish males from femelles (without making an incision) is size. At equal age, diet and environment, females reach a size that is slightly superior to males.
The hug below lasts from 15 minutes to two hours and is a clear sign of future egg laying.
