Scientific name: Melanoïdes granifera (Lamarck, 1822)
Size: length similar to M. tuberculata, i.e. 2 cm; diametre 5 mm
Breething: aquatic, through gills.
Temperature: 20 to 32°C
Utility: seats the food surplus and moves the soil.
Particularity: contrary to its cousin M. tuberculata, it digs in the sand and remains hidden most of its life. Prioritarily feeds on detritus present in sediment and algae.
